Ongoing goals as Mayor:
- Keeping the budget under the tax cap.
- Improve services where necessary.
- Ensure your tax dollars are spent appropriately.
Seeking the funding for:
- Water and sewer main replacements and extensions.
- The complete rehabilitation of Lakeside Drive, including connecting the sidewalk from West Main St. along Lakeside Dr., and then connecting to Charles Colman Blvd., providing residents a safe way to walk to both Town Parks.
- Improving other roads and cross walks for safety.
Accomplishments:
Restructuring the building department in a way that the primary tasks of the Building Inspector is no cost to the taxpayer. Building Permits, Property Maintenance and Fire Safety Inspections are paid for by the landowner through the application fee.
Sought and secured funding to improve our water infrastructure which had been neglected for the past 20 years. I have overseen critical maintenance of our systems and purchased equipment to get us back on track and established maintenance protocols.
Continually coordinate shared services with the Town for snow removal (saving the Village $20,000), consolidating the courts (saving the Village $70,000), salt and gas storage, MS4 mapping grant and the Pawling Joint Sewer Commission. I have continued to save the Village $48,000+ by shared services with the Town of Poughkeepsie who has provided their Vac Truck on our watermain breaks without any cost to our village taxpayers.
